Attendance

As all parents know, school attendance is very important.  We are working very hard in school to encourage good attendance and punctuality in the children.  We have recently lauched a new incentive for the children: the class with the highest attendance at the end of each term will be treated to a trip to the cinema.  In order to secure this coveted prize, children must be in school every day!

Please show your support for the children and school by ensuring that your child/children are in school at 8.55am.  If your child is too poorly for school, please notify the school office before the start of the school day.  Appointments should be avoided in school time wherever possible.  Should it be difficult to rearrange, the appointment card or letter must be presented at the school office.

Eco News

Congratulations to the children and staff on achieving the Eco Green Flag status!  This is a wonderful achievement for the whole school and we become one of the few schools in the borough who have managed to reach this standard.  Special thanks go to Mrs Cursaro who has led the Eco Team and organised the application and to Mrs Boardman who has supported the staff and children as school Governor and member of the Eco Team.

Sacramental Programme

Information about this year's Sacramental Programme is available now on the Parish website as well as under the Events page on the school website.  The children are now preparing for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion which will take place later this year.  Please ensure that the meetings and celebration Masses are attended by the children in due preparation for these important Sacraments.

School Choir

Congratulations to the School Choir who came first in their group in the Rochdale Youth Festival of Performing Arts.  This is a tremendous achievement for the choir and the second such award in as many years.  Miss Docherty and Fr Martin do a wonderful job in supporting the children and preparing them so ably for such performances.

In  the coming months, the choir will be participating in the Mass on Palm Sunday, a concert for MedEquip4Kids at Manchester Cathedral in June and eventually in the Parish Concert in July.
