Welcome to Holy Family
Welcome to Holy Family RC Primary School's website. We hope that the information you find here is useful for parents, friends, families and children. Your comments and suggestions are also very welcome and you can pass on your ideas using the

Attendance
As all parents know, school attendance is very important. We are working very hard in school to encourage good attendance and punctuality in the children. We have recently lauched a new incentive for the children: the class with the highest attendance at the end of each term will be treated to a trip to the cinema. In order to secure this coveted prize, children must be in school every day!
Please show your support for the children and school by ensuring that your child/children are in school at 8.55am. If your child is too poorly for school, please notify the school office before the start of the school day. Appointments should be avoided in school time wherever possible. Should it be difficult to rearrange, the appointment card or letter must be presented at the school office.
Thank you for your continuing support.
Eco News
The school recycling team has launched a six week campaign to recycle as many mobile phones as possible with a scheme called fones4schools. The scheme entitles every child who donates an old or broken mobile to a prize which they must choose from the prize sheet. In addition to this, school gets £75 for every 50 phones that are recycled. This is a great way in which recycling can benefit the individual child, the school and our planet. Please help us by donating any old or broken mobiles to school, the age and condition do not matter. Maybe you could ask friends and family too.
Sacramental Programme
Congratulations to the chidren who made their First Holy Communion on Sunday 6th June at Holy Family RC Church. On behalf of the children and parents invovled, we thank the Parish Catechists for their support and guidance over the course of the year. We pray that the children continue to grow in faith and love and become fully involved in the life of our Parish.
Haiti Appeal
As you know, we held a non-uniform day to raise money for the earthquake victims in Haiti. The idea came from the School Council, who organised the event. £230 was raised and sent off to the disaster fund. However, the chidlren do not wish to stop there!
The Reception class baked gingerbread men to sell. Children who wished to buy a gingerbread man brought 50p into school to place their order which the Reception children will then baked to order. A huge £150 was raised for the Haiti appeal - well done to Mrs Cursaro and the KS1 and FS staff for their hard work and to the children for their generosity.
Valentine Cake Sale
The PFA organised a fund raising cake sale on Friday 12th February. The theme of the cake sale was friendship and the proceeds raised went to the PFA fund, which has been set up to benefit the children in school. The cake sale was a huge success and rasied over £70 for the PFA funds.
Many thanks to all members of the PFA for their continued support and commitment.
School Choir
The School Choir is busy prepapring for the Children's Voices for Hospice Concert which is to be held on July 4th. The theme of the concert is the World Cup and the children will be singing 2 songs from coun tries participating in the competition.
This is the first time our School Choir has taken part in this festival, so do please show your support by attending the performance. Tickets can be ordered through school. Funds raised will go towards the commendable work done by Springhill Hospice.
Parish & School Concert
The annual Parish/School Concert will take place on Thursday 8th July ay Holy Family Church. The event has become a highlight of the school year and will involve our School Choir, Year 6 leavers and talented parishioners plus special guest Liam McNally, fresh from the recent 'Britain's Got Talent' finals.
The concert is free to attend and we look forward to another excellent evenings entertainment!
Suubi Collection
The School Council organised a collection for the children of Suubi in the run up to Christmas. The children of Holy Family RC Primary have again been very generous and donated many gifts of stationery, toiletries and small toys to present to the children as belated Christmas gifts.
Mrs Jungmayr was delighted with the School Council's suggestion and is looking forward to receiving the gifts on behalf of the children in Uganda.
Year 5 have also designed Christmas cards and written letters to the children of Suubi, telling them all about life in the UK. These letters have been sent on to Mrs Jungmayr and we look forward to hearing from the children in the New Year.
Mrs Jungmayr will be visiting school again on Wednesday 9th June to update the children and staff on recent events and news about Suubi.
