AUTUMN TERM 2023
Welcome to Year 2. Our topic for this term is Fire! Fire!

In our RELIGION lessons we will start the new year with a topic called Beginnings and then signs and symbols.
During the ENGLISH sessions this term all our texts are focused around Fire and the Great Fire of London. You will find more details on the texts on the overview below.
In MATHS lessons we will focus all our learning around place value. Children will become familiar with numbers to 100 through subitising, part whole models and a range of practical activities. Then will then move on to addition and subtraction.
Notices and Key Dates
P.E. is on Monday afternoons. Please come to school on Mondays in your P.E kit.
Spellings will still be sent home each week in your child's communication log please take time to practise these at home. As we have started to use a new spelling scheme the number of spellings your child will learn each week has increased. Children will also be given some time at school to learn their spellings.
Please send your child in with their communication log and reading book daily.
